Hello everyone, it’s great to be back and share another post about one of my favorite topics: snacks! Today, I’m excited to take you on a journey to the Land of the Rising Sun – Japan – where I discovered some of the most delicious and unique snacks I’ve ever tasted.
Japan is known for its incredible cuisine, and snacks are no exception. From savory to sweet, crunchy to chewy, there’s a snack for every taste bud in Japan. One of the most popular savory options is rice crackers, known as “senbei” in Japanese. These crispy crackers come in a variety of flavors, such as soy sauce, wasabi, and seaweed. They’re perfect for snacking on-the-go or enjoying with a cup of green tea.
For those with a sweet tooth, strawberry-flavored Pocky sticks are a must-try. Made by the company Glico, these biscuit sticks covered in creamy strawberry frosting are a popular choice among locals and tourists alike. Another sweet snack option is mochi, a soft and chewy rice cake filled with sweet red bean paste or other flavors like matcha or strawberry.
As the famous Japanese proverb goes, “happiness is a box of Japanese snacks.” And I couldn’t agree more. Whether you’re in Japan or trying these snacks in your own home, there’s no doubt that these delicious treats will bring a smile to your face.
